The Blog

Welcome.

This little corner of the internet is where we share thoughts on family life, kindness, raising brave and inclusive humans, and the everyday moments that matter more than we sometimes realise.

We like to think of it like a conversation with a friend.

Thank you for being here

Random Acts of Human: Tiny Notes That Travel

Imagine walking into a café, opening a book at the library, or grabbing a shopping trolley… and finding a small note that simply says something kind.
No explanation. No expectation. Just a quiet reminder that someone out there chose kindness.
That’s the idea behind our Random Acts of Human cards.
The Why....
At embrace humans we talk a lot about kindness, belonging, and seeing each other fully. But sometimes those ideas can feel big.
Random Acts of Human is our way of bringing those values back into the small, everyday moments.
Because kindness doesn’t need a big stage. It can live in the tiny interactions that happen throughout the day.
A small note left for a stranger might seem simple, but it can land in a moment where someone really needed it.
A reminder that someone cares. A reminder that they matter. A reminder that the world still has good humans in it.

The How....
The beauty of these cards is that there’s no right or wrong way to use them.
You might leave one tucked inside a library book. Or on a café table for the next person. Maybe in a grocery cart, on a park bench, or taped to a bathroom mirror.
Some people write their own messages. Some decorate them with their kids. Some simply leave them exactly as they are.
The goal is simple: let kindness move through the world.

The Domino Effect.....
Here’s the part we love the most.
Kindness rarely stops with one person.
Someone finds a note and smiles. Their day softens just a little. Maybe they speak more kindly to a coworker. Maybe they show patience with their kids. Maybe they decide to pass on their own small act of kindness.
And suddenly that one tiny note becomes something bigger.
A ripple. Then another ripple.
That’s the quiet domino effect kindness creates.

A Small Mission
Random Acts of Human is really just an invitation.
An invitation to notice each other more. To slow down for a moment. To leave the world a little warmer than we found it.
Because when kindness starts moving, it rarely stops.
And sometimes, all it takes is one small note.

The 30-Day Kindness Challenge (Because We All Need a Reset Sometimes)

Can I be honest? Some days our house feels a little rushed… a little loud… and not quite as kind as I’d like it to be.

Forgotten lunchboxes. Shoes missing five minutes before school. Someone arguing about who touched who first.

Real life.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, kindness can quietly slip away. Not because we don’t care — just because we’re human.

That’s actually a big part of why Embrace Humans exists in the first place — to help bring a little more kindness, awareness and connection back into everyday life.

So we created something simple: The 30-Day Kindness Challenge.

Nothing complicated. Nothing Pinterest-perfect.

Just one small act of kindness each day.

Things like:

• Saying something encouraging before school

• Doing something helpful without being asked

• Writing a quick thank-you note

• Including someone new

Tiny moments that slowly shift the tone of a home.

Not in a big dramatic way — just in a gentle, “hey… this feels a bit nicer” kind of way.

Because kindness isn’t something we want our kids to just talk about. It’s something we want to practice together.

If you’d like to try it, you can download the free 30-Day Kindness Challenge here.

Print it. Stick it on the fridge. Miss a day. Start again. There's No pressure.

Just small steps to a kinder home.

Raising Kind, Brave & Inclusive Humans

Sometimes I look at the world and feel this deep pull to make it better.

Kinder. More understanding. More inclusive.

But if I’m honest, it can also feel overwhelming.

Like… where do you even start with something that big?

I used to think creating change meant doing something huge. Starting a movement. Changing systems. Fixing everything all at once.

But somewhere along the way I realised something important.

Change doesn’t actually start “out there”.

It starts much closer to home.

Around our dinner tables. In the car on the way to school. In the small conversations we have with our kids about kindness, fairness and including others.

The everyday moments.

The ones that might seem small at the time — but quietly shape the kind of humans our kids become.

Because raising kind, brave and inclusive humans isn’t really about big speeches or perfect parenting.

It’s about the little things.

Encouraging our kids to speak up when something isn’t right. Helping them notice when someone feels left out. Teaching them that differences are something to be curious about, not afraid of.

And honestly… we’re learning alongside them.

This is something I think about a lot, which is why we created a simple Parent Guide: Raising Brave & Kind Humans.

It’s not a rule book.

Just a gentle collection of ideas and conversation starters to help families nurture kindness, courage and inclusion in everyday life.

If it sounds helpful, you can download the free guide here.

Because the more I think about it, the more I believe this:

The kind of world we want to see tomorrow… starts with the humans we’re raising today.

Kindness starts small.

When You Want to Have the Conversations… But Life Is Busy

Life is busy.

Really busy.

Between school runs, work, dinner, sports, laundry and everything else, most days can feel like a constant stream of information and to-dos.

And on top of that, we’re all carrying a lot of awareness about the world around us.

We want to raise kind kids. Brave kids. Inclusive kids.

Kids who notice others. Kids who care.

But sometimes… we just don’t have the bandwidth to figure out how to have those conversations in the middle of everyday life.

Hello overwhelm.

That’s actually why we created our Conversation Starter Cards.

Not because families need more things to do.

But because sometimes we just need a little prompt.

A simple question.

Something that opens the door to a meaningful moment you might not have had otherwise.

You can use them at the dinner table. In the car. At bedtime. Or whenever you find a quiet moment together.

The questions are designed to gently spark conversations about things like kindness, empathy, courage and understanding others.

Nothing heavy. Nothing complicated.

Just small prompts that help kids think, reflect and share what’s on their minds.

And the beautiful thing about conversations like this is that they don’t just teach kids.

They help us understand them better too.

Because raising thoughtful humans isn’t about having all the answers.

Sometimes it’s simply about creating space for the conversation.

If you’d like to try them with your family, you can download the Conversation Starter Cards here.

Colour Your Values: A Colouring Book for the Whole Family

Some of the best family moments are the simple ones.

Sitting around the table. Pencils everywhere. Everyone quietly working on their own little masterpiece.

No rush. No pressure. Just a moment together.

That’s the idea behind Colour Your Values.

What started as a simple colouring book has grown into something the whole family can enjoy. The pages are designed for all ages, so kids and adults can join in — whether you're colouring side by side or enjoying a quiet moment on your own.

Woven through the book are gentle reminders of the values many of us want to bring into everyday life.

Things like kindness. Courage. Gratitude. Inclusion.

Not in a heavy or “teaching” way — just little nudges that spark reflection while you colour.

It’s a simple activity, but sometimes those simple moments are the ones where conversations naturally pop up.

Or sometimes… everyone just enjoys a few peaceful minutes with their pencils.

Both are perfect.

If you’d like to try it with your family, you can download the free Colour Your Values family colouring book here.

Print a few pages, spread out the pencils and enjoy a small moment together.

Kindness starts small.
